I have a 1978 mercruiser 120 hp and i would like to install from scratch the trim pump/motor assembly. The guy i bought the boat from sold the old trim assembly on ebay, fortunately he left the high pressure lines. I have read on this site that some of the newer pumps listed on ebay have different pressures than the old late seventies trim system. How would i go about installing a new pump and would it work with the old style rams?

Yep the older rams should work "if" they are still usable. Might need to take them apart and install kits. Below is the manual

What do you mean by newer style line? The old hydraulic lines will not fit? How about the wires?
