I have an older Evinrude 115. It starts great, and runs like a bat out of hell. The only problem is that when the fuel tank is less than 2/3 full the engine will stop just as if you ran out of gas. Level the tank, or fill it back up and it runs great until the next time the tank is lower than 2/3. Checked hoses, fitting vents and the fule inltake hose and all seem perfect. What can it be?

Did you inspect the tank pickup tube for any breaks? Sounds like there's a break in the tube and you're loosing vacuum when the fuel level drops below the break.

Are you positive the vent is open and working correctly?
And are you positive the tank's pickup line/tub is going all the way to the bottom?
If the pickup had a hole in it at some point, the line would start sucking air instead of gas. Thus it would stop sucking up gas at the same point each time.

1st are you using the portable tanks, or a built in tank?
