Older Evinrude controls?

I just purchased a 1968 6 HP Evinrude for my Gheenoe and I would like to rig it for remote controle and install stick steering. The motor has the hook-ups to do so. My question is, where can I find the parts and hookup instructions for something like that?

Thanks

Re: Older Evinrude controls?

Thanks, any ideas on the steering controls? I need everything from the cable to the engine.

Thanks

Start searching here:

You'll need the "ball joint" and adapter. As shown.

It's pretty simple-actually, since you are dealing with low HP.

As previously mentioned, you need the "Dual Handle" controls. The single handle controls, any year (except electric shift) will work but you need NONE of the electrical.

Once you buy a steering system, you can, probably piece together the connections. Again, you are dealing with low HP thus integrity is important, but not paramount. Use Stainless Steel components.
