I am in the process of rebuilding the gear case on a "75" 75hp Evinrude. I received the parts today and found that the oil retainer seal pn. 0303804 has been obsoleted by Evinrude and replaced with pn. 0321467, (2) required. This seal couldn't be more wrong. It's .200" too small for the bore. I called Evinrude and they apologized and are going to refund me after I spend $4 to ship a $9 part back, but couldn't offer a solution, that's what I can't understand. I measured the bore and found that an SKF #11124 seal is what it needs. I guess I just wanted to vent after ordering everything and then waiting a week just to still spent all afternoon chasing after parts.

Just order a Sierra seal part#18-2060 as its a direct replacement and S/S material vs the SKF which is mild steel. The dimensions are: 1.00 I.D, 1.375 O.D and .250 width

That's the problem, the seals that came from Evinrude are the size you mentioned, the seal I need is a 1 5/8 O.D. x 1 1/8 shaft x .256 lg. You do have a point about the mild steel though the orignal was brass. The SKF is teflon coated but if it's scratched the steel is exposed, I'll have to find s'less or brass. Thanks.
