With no integrated steps how exactly is a "not so nimble anymore" person supposed to clamber up onto the console and throught the walk through windcscreen?

And much more importantly, how is this not so nimble but generously proportioned person supposed to get back down without jumping down onto the helm seat?

I can't be the first person to struggle with this?

Is there any room to walk on the outside of boat on top of the gunwhales? Some boats have enough space on the sides to get to the foredeck, others strictly use the walk-through. Usually on the older boats, you simply climb onto the helm or passenger seat and step up onto the dash. Newer models have incorporated steps into the dash or on the sliding cabin door.

Unfortunately the hand rails come down and restrict the gunwhales which are small anyway.

Thinking about fabricating a small step and mounting a grab rail on the console to assist.
