Hello,I am looking to replace my old 20 hp johnson with something a little newer.* Its been a great motor, but I just love how much quieter and more refined the four strokes are.* I came across a 1985 Honda 10 hp for a very good price.* How do these old Hondas compare to the new ones?* I have never heard an old one run, but the new ones are sure impressive.* If it's just as noisy as my Johnson, I'll probably keep what I got or keep looking for something newer.Thank You

Its a Honda, I would be worried about being able to find parts for myself.

There are so many Jonny/rudes around there will be parts forever but early Hondas, especially small ones, have to be pretty obscure.

I would poke around and see what parts you can find and how much they are.

I love mine. It's an 83. Starts up every time and is much quieter than my old Johnny 9.9 (which I also loved). Plus it is not as heavy as other 4 strokes.

I know there is a local dealer of Honda OB parts for me but have not had to do anything except normal maint on mine (plugs & oil).

But why are you going from a 20 to a 10 and will it be enough hp?
