Hi,
I am new to this site. I have an older (???Late 60's??) 40 hp Mercury 350, 4 cylinder that has a thunderbolt powerhead. There is no spark. The motor turns over. Can anyone make any suggestions on where I might be able to find a printed copy of the timing diagram and where to find the points on this motor. Any other help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Your motor is a 1961 model. The points are located in the magneto (front left side of motor). I'd get yourself a manual before digging into her. Manuals, parts books, parts, etc. are available through Grubb's Marine at www.oldmercs.com
- Scott
