I am getting my boat ready for winter (the 1st time for me)
It's a 89 Lowe 1700V bass Boat and I did not get the owners manual, when I bought her (used) How much STABIL should I use? How big is my fuel tank? Does it say any where on the boat what size or capacity the fuel tank is?

Hi Terry,

Most boats usually don't specify fuel capacity any where on the boat. If you don't know, next time you fill up keep track of how much fuel you add. With this you can get a rough idea of the size of tank.

As far as stabil goes. You can use more than what they recommend without any problems. My dad used to add twice what they recommended for his Yamaha and it started first pull in the spring.

I have a 16 foot Crestliner. It has a 17 gallon tank. I am sure yours is somewhere close. Just add a bit more if your not sure of the size. It won't hurt to add more. Next year keep an eye on how much fuel you add and your fuel guage, you can estimate the tank size from that.

Hope this helps,
Jason

Terry,

I had a 1989 Lowe 1730V which was a similar hull, just a bit higher and a bowrider.

All the '89' Lowe boats, with in floor tanks, were 25 gallons.

You should have three black deck plates, on the floor. Pry up all three, the tank capacity plate is under one of them. If memory serves me right, it's the middle one.
