Older Merc 115 Rev Problem

ser 3112622, rev will work great when connected to hose, but cannot engage in water. Do I need to add shims? what other suggestions???

same motor same problem. usually fuel problem.<br />do a search on this site under "fuel starvation".<br />it's a place to start....<br />hopefully one of the experts will add to this.<br />I just got mine back from the shop today where<br />they put in new carb kits and pump kits. I'll<br />let you know how well it worked after I get her<br />in the water tomorrow morn.<br />good luck,<br />M.Y.

Need more info.<br />Does it stall? <br /><br />Is it engine or gear problem you are trying to <br />describe?<br /><br />Is it hard to put into gear?<br /><br />Have you checked the lower unit lube by draining and refilling?<br /><br />If so, was there any water in it?
