older tach

I came across a older tach like the one in my boat from my 1979 85 hp.

the one i found has a part number of 0173607 which is obsolete but will it work on my old v4 cross flow? 1983 or 1979

Yes, that number's been obsolete for some time. Since it's an OMC tach part number, best guess is that it will work on your engine. If there's a pointer/adjustment on the back of the tach, set it to the number 6.
