ole Evinrude 75 hp pops out of gear....

Just got this old 75 hp Evinrude Starflite II(older than '62). Runs real strong, but when throttle is opened up, it keeps popping out of gear. Anyone have a solution or suggestion, please e-mail me asap!! Dying to get in the water & try her out!!!

I assume it only pops out of forward, Jrmint. Check that the shift linkage is going all the way into F. If it is you may need new gears in the lower end.<br /><br />Good luck.<br />JB
