Started up no problem, A couple minutes out of the marina, boat died, guages everything... No power. Turn key once, and nothing happens,( no flicker of guages) Turn key again and boat starts up. As we get going again at about half throttle the boat died again. Completely went dead. Turn the key a couple times and boat started up again FINE. She did this about 4 or 5 more times, then she ran perfect the rest of the afternoon. Oh and another thing my voltmeter guage sometimes comes on and sometimes it doesnt. Please I need help, Its my first boat, Thanks in advance

Check your wire connections on your key switch. Possibly corroded. As far as your volt meter mine does same thing it comes on and some times it doesnt a few light taps with the finger tip and its working. Needs to be replaced. Another possiblity is dirty connections on the battery.

I've had customers with the same exact problem bring their boats in. The #1 reason for the failure is corroded and loose wing nuts holding the battery cables to the battery.
Clean them up, (and make sure the cable end is also good) and put a regular nut in place of the wing nuts and give it a try. Do both the Positive and Negative.
Of course you could have a faulty battery switch, bad cables anyplace (especially grounds) or even a bad harness connection.
Get a meter out and start tracing the wiring and find out where it stops.

Cooter, It was the connection from the key switch to the 5 amp breaker, It was corroded and loose.

Don, I took your advice as well. I cleaned all terminals and tightned everything up.

Thanks again guys

I have another problem with my temp guage. The guage has power but the wire from sending unit is cut. To where do I connect that cut wire.(brown)If its to the guage, there are about 4 or 5 terminals on it.????

I just trailered my boat from my parents house. I put the trim up. When I got to my house I degreased the engine. When I went to put the trim down, I heard the pump working but nothing was happening. Is there a special way to bleed the system. Its an ARCO part # 6206.
