I would just unbolt the remainder of the quadrant and purchase a new one. You can find them on ebay pretty easily.

I wish it was that easy but it broke off along with a piece of the gear housing edge..
the tilt quad is not broken it is still intact...the breaking point was the where it mounts to the gear housing shell...

Ouch! I'm not sure that'll be easily or reliably fixable. You may be looking for a new upper (or a used one you can swap innards into. Maybe you can find one with bad gears cheap?

No kiddin' "ouch!" - I second that. Find a new one as cheap as you can. I don't think those fail as much as the lowers do, so there's a good chance of getting one in good working order.

I've found parts on Craigslist too - mainly donor boats.

that what I said last year when it happen...it happen right when we where docking the boat...i heard a thumb & because it was in shallow water I was able to retrieve it...the drive was not up but I turn off engine well before going to shallow water...

From what year to what year would fit?

I seen a 77 colbalt for sale for parts
