I finally found out how water is getting into lower unit after submersing in water tank. Down in the water well next to the lower drive housing i see a string if small bubbles, a bit of a confined space for sure, can this be welded or can I pour epxoy down in there to seal it, at 5 psi it dosent leak but above that bubbles appear. Im going to look for a donor case but for this summer I would like to see if it could be repaired. I assume the previous owner left it tilted up and it frooze.
Anyone got a soultion other than buy a new empty gear case.
Tks

I think the epoxy idea would work as long as there are no other passages it would block that are supposed to vent/bleed out water. A new case is the best option, but the epoxy will work until times are right.

The bubbles comming up from one of the output shaft bearing carrier bolts, once I turned the prop end up there were the bubbles. Easy fix. tks for info on epoxy though.
