How do I loosen these three screaws they will not budge should I use and inpact and hammer or is there a trick to loosen them up. Thanks for any help it is the throttle assy. for a omc 4.3 sticks when first put in gear.
Stuck screws are just stuck screws. Beat them, heat them, drill them, swear at them, use a brand new screwdriver, give them nasty looks, hold your tongue properly, etc.
Take you rscrew driver and put it on the screws and then hit screw driver with a hammer. Dont smack it hard but give it a few light wacks. and try to turn it.
I did try tapping it hitting it and using a inpact driver with hammer they will not budge.IMG]http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q258/drifter_023/02-1.jpg[/IMG]
danond or anybody that can help. This is a new to me boat I still cannot get the screws loose but how do I check to see if the transom shift cable is bad?
what it is doing is it is real hard to get into forward or reverse once in works ok but hard to get back into neutral. Thanks for any advice I was trying to get the control box out to lube the cables.
Bubba, I disconnected the shift cable and it did work smooth but now I still cannot remove the three center screws to remove the dang control box to change the shift cable. They are the screws behind the throttle handle any ideas.
Finally got the screws out I bought a 3/8 socket with a phillips head on it and put on a breaker bar. Someone has already been in control box the screws had gorilla snot on the treads will open tomorrow and check it out and hopefully buy and change out shift cable.
