omc 1989 cobra 5.7

just bought the boat about a month has 150hrs on motor it goes into gear fine and shifts but put it in the water today it went into gear but when i got out of the no wake zone i tried to excellarate and the boat did not move any faster.

did you do a tune up and how was your rpm did it move to a higher number? Don S has a adult only with alot of good info on the problem you have..

Like he ^^^^^^ said, and also, there will be some other knowledgeable folks along soon. You will find you will have much better luck with getting the info you want, however, if you keep all your posts to one question contained within the same thread, instead of starting a new thread with each post. Did it have lots of varoom varoom but no go go? or did it have no varoom varoom..

Makes a difference.. Could be spun hub... Shot coupler.. All kinds of engine troubles.. Here is the question.. Did it feel like it was slipping?

Also I think I saw this post earlier????? Or is there a rash of this problem
