so ive been trying to pin down the source of the HORRIBLE blow by on my buddies boat. we tried to clean the pcv system first being hopeful but when that failed i did a compression test and found that cyl 4 had only 40psi  so...we took the head off only to find that the cylinder wall was scored pretty badly. it COULD be fixed with a bore job but that seems like a huge waste of money in this boat. so are we stuck parting out the motor or selling the boat as is? or should we try to find a donor motor around here. i scoured craigslists around the area and came up empty handed. i know the gearing would be way off for any v8 motor...but is there any other options that might be easier to find? he has sort of accepted the fact that the boat might be going down the road so i figured i would just throw the question out there. thanks!

Ford 2.3L 4 cylinders were pretty common in the 1980s and 1990s. Mustangs used them in their 4-cylinder models. I think the Ford Temp used it as well.

I did a craigslist scan for a Ford 2.3 and came up with tons of them... maybe you are being too specific in your search
