Doing some repair work on a 88 OMC Chevy V8 engine wiring harness, and i've got (2) of these plugs on the harness, 1 male, 1 female. both of them have a badly corroded wire right at the plug. What tools do I need to extract the female contacts? Where can I get the pins/sockets to attach to the new wires?

Here is from a Volvo manual, same as the OMC though.

You might find something at Radio Shack to do it too. I know they have them for making computer cable ends, not sure if they have anything for beefier connectors like this.

Re: OMC 2 Pin plug help

I used a small piece of brass tubing from the local hobby-shop to transfer the wires on my new trim-sender to the rubber-ends. It just needs to fit over the females tight enough to push-in the little "Barbs" I had to wiggle a little, but they came out with ease.
