OMC 3.0 Drive Belt Replacement

As I recall you have to support the engine and remove the front motor mount. Hopefully you have the means to hang the front of the motor. A sturdy piece of lumber between the gunwales and a chain with a load tensioner that semi trailers use could work. You shouldn't need to lift the front, just relieve the weight so you can get the mount on and off. Some people put a spare in position and attach it in a way so that it can be moved into place without having to remove the mount should the need arise again.

I have a 1994 Mercruiser alpha 1, 3.01 ltr., 4 cylinder, inboard. I need help changing the altinator belt closest to the motor. There is a bar in the way????? THANKS!!!!

Support the Engine on/from the Stringers.....<br />Take the Two(2) Bolts out on the Port-Side of the Front Motor Mount......<br />Remove the Spacer Block,<br />Change the Belt,<br />Reinstall the Spacer Block,+ It's Bolts,+ Remove the Added Engine Supports........<br /><br />OMC,<br />Volvo,<br />Mercruiser.......<br />They're All 3.0l Chevies........
