omc 3.0 to 4.3 conversion

i have a omc 3.0 and would like to put a 4.3 in do i have to change the sterndrive how hard is the convesion i do have acess to merc 4.3 with very low hours complete the stern drive is in good condition but the 3.0 block has a crack thanks

Your looking at a Major ReFit to do what you're Asking.....<br />Unless you're Really in Love with this Boat..?? Forget It...<br />When you're Done, You'll be a Mechanic,+ Carpender,+ Rigger,+Glasser,+ Painter,+ Well, It's Alot of Work..........<br />There's No Mixing + Matching.... It's Either Merc., Or God Forbid.....OMC

SO YOU CANT PUT A MERC MOTOR IN FRONT OF A OMC STERNDRIVE I DONT WANT TO CHANGE THE STERNDRIVE JUST THE ENGINE THE 4.3 I HAVE ACESS TO IS JUST THE LONG BLOCK WITH MANIFOLDS THANKS

You'll need the OMC 4.3 manifolds, motor mounts, and probably every related wiring harness,bracket,belt,cable,rod,and accessory that the OMC 4.3 setup had.<br /><br />A lot of work. Not worth it IMHO.
