Ran fine last weekend. I have had some fuel issues (filters) but ran fine after I changed them.

New battery
New plugs
Turns over won't start
Fuel in carb

Could this be a fuse?

Also, I found brown/white hot wire? Doesn't look like it has been connected in a while.

You might want to head up to the "Adults Only" thread at the top of this forum page and check out Don S postings on troubleshooting. Good Luck

Did you check for spark?

When you pump the throttle, does fuel squirt from the accelerator pump holes on the carb?

Don,
Thanks. Yes, I am getting plenty of fuel in the carb, and I am fairly certain I am getting spark as one of the plug wires had a crack in it and it was arching off the engine.

The weird thing is that it ran fine last weekend and now it won't start.

Ayuh,... Sounds like it's got All kinds of reasons Not to start...
A set of plug wires,+ a Full Tune up probably will make a Difference...

OK. I replaced plugs and we tapped on carb float area and engine started. Runs smooth but after a little but blows some oil out of the top of the crankcase hose. There was a lot of gas getting dumped into the engine because the float wasn't work. Could this be causing the oil to blow by? Oil is not mixed with water, and looks clean, though a little thin as if the gas as mixed in.

That much gas doesn't get into the engine through the carb, most likely it would come from the fuel pump.
Did you look at the dipstick and see how much over full it was ????
DO NOT run it again if there is that much gas in it. Get it pumped out and remove the fuel pump and check it for leaks.

If that fuel in the oil does decide to blow, it can get exciting. Bends oil pans, valve covers, etc.

Yes, I looked at dipstick and oil level is still fine.
