Omc 3.0l Coil ???

I HAVE A 1988 BAYLINER 2155 HAS A OMC 3.0L i wanted to take the points out to day and put a pertronix ignitor the coil has a tag use with exturnal ballast resistor is there 1 if so were??? or is that the worng coil???

Not sure about your coil but the pertronix ignitor module is not a drop in for these OMC's, you have to add a modified circuit for the shift assist module for it to operate correctly. I haven't done it myself but others that have will chime in, just hang loose for while and the answers will come.
