Just want to maybe save some time for someone else.
I have a '78 Thompson with a 225 - 305 cu in small block. Most recently the fuel pump developed a a problem (leaky diaphragm) so I set out to find a rebuild kit. I still haven't found one but this is what I found out along the way.
The OMC OEM book calls for P/N 981650.
I think a Volvo Penta for the same application is 3855276. I recently found one. It says Carter on it.
What was on my boat when it failed was a Carter 2208. Six screw and looks to be right. Not much info on it that I could find.
The most interesting and relevant point is that I think a Carter 61125 sold by Summit racing (half of the Volvo price) is a substitute for the application.
40 GPH 5 - 6.5 psi.
