omc 4.3 starter problem

OK...i went out the other day and put some muffs on the out drive, Turned key and tried 3 times. Turned over fine but didn't start. Was in a hurry so left it. Next day went out to tinker with it. turned key...and the starter just "growled" like a dead batter. Put a charger on it and it said it was fine? pulled battery and brought it to an auto place to test. they said it was fine as far as cranking amps etc.? Put back in the boat and its like it wants to turn but cant? I see the pulleys on the front twitch a bit and i just get a growl out of it? Now...day 3... i don't even get a growl ...just a click. Think its a bad starter\solenoid? Odd that it was fine one day and the next day nothing. Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry for just noticing the post. Start with checking all cable connections. Don't just look at them, take them off each terminal and also the other end where it connects to the block ground and starter post. Ensure they are real clean, wire brush and file if needed. Make sure everything is tight and let us know what you find
