omc 4.3L gimble housing

I think rule #1 stay away from OMC.
1991/92 OMC Cobra 4.3L gimble housing is trashed,must be replaced. is the housing the same on a 4cyl and 8cyl as the 4.3 ?
if anyone knows what years will interchange that would help too.

These were good drives, the problemb is that parts have dried up. The housing was the same for earlier drives, I am not sure on the transition years when volvo took them over. I no longer have the books to check which ones will work.

I think 90-93, 3.0, 4.3, 5.0, 5.7, 5.8 are the same, not the king cobra versions.

There is a good looking used one on Ebay.. Of course you will have to ask year.(part# changed though years but looks like the same stuff to me).. Since both the used ones posted come with everything I would think they would bolt up in your hole regardless of the year... I wouldn't buy that part new anyway.. It was close to a grand for the new part when it was available.. For just the dang housing... Also try CL.. Be shocked at what ol boat scrapers have laying around..
