Last year I winterized my boat (OMC, 4.3L, V6) as every year but after winter I saw leakage sign around the “cobra” logo on my outboard. The plastic logo was swell out, and when I removed it, I saw a screw under the logo. The screw was loss and it turns just half a turn. I am not sure what is the screw for? which side do I need to tight it? Anything is damaged or not?

You have to pull the drive & split it to do the repair. There should be a nut which has fallen off somewhete inside the gearcase. It's a pita but the only way.

It does't look like a screw with nut. Today I tried to loss it with a bigger screw driver. It turns only 1/4 a turn, and gets tight on both sides.

what you are calling a nut, is supposed to be a rectangular retainer plate.
