omc 5.0 dies unexpectedly

I have 92 caravelle elegante and it has treated me fine for the last two years but this season I took it out and when the motor warms up it justs shuts off doesnt sputter just shuts off then will start right back up the dies again eventually not starting but if it sits and cools down it will run till it warms up

coil is probably going bad remove it and have it tested or just try replacing see if its leaking or real hot as well

I have a 5.7 omc.. same problem.. replacing fuel pump.. or at least trying... thinking coil might be bad from the other forums..


Ran strong died out.. than just wouldnt start.. .. boating.. lol

already replaced coil no help a mehcanic told me that the esa switch may cause it to die unexpectidly so Im going to unplug that or disconnect the gray wire from the coil and bypass the ignition switch to eliminate possibilities just hoping someone had same problem and knew exactly what it was

I changed plugs re gaped points seafoamed the carb and ran the crap out of it seems to have taken care of the problem for now the old plugs smelled like bad gas even though i put stabil in last year and even ran it so it would get to the carb
