Hi,

I have a 1997 Seaswirl with a OMC 5.0. Winterized last year and uses ethanol free fuel. We started it two weeks ago on the trailer with ear-muffs and ran it for about 5 minutes without any problems. Boat came of trailer hard into the water (probably hit the bottom on the launch. No damage to the fiberglass/gel coat and no visible damage to the lower unit (was up as high as it can go) started up and ran for about 60 seconds then stopped. Now it will start and run for about 1-2 seconds. Changed the fuel filter (did not see any water or debris). Made sure the carb was clean and tried to start it with some entire start which didn't do anything different (just 1-2 seconds) Did not check all the plugs as I figured it was starting for a second or two. No water in the oil. No leaking chemicals in the bilge.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome aboard.

I would start by checking fuel flow from the pump (just to be sure it's pumping). Then start looking from the battery to the spark plugs for places where you're not getting spark. Mighta' jogged something loose or finished breaking something that had started.

If it's a carb model, I would pull the fuel pump relay and bypass it and see how long it runs.
