Since I found water in the lower unit and very little oil, I'm thinking the seals need to be replaced. The unit is off the boat, is there special tools involved? Or can this be done in my garage?

unfortunately there are some sticky areas inside that lower unit that take some special tools. If i were you, i would submerge the unit in water and pump air ( max i think is 15 psi) and see where the leak is, then move on from there.

Welcome aboard Troy: I'm with sway - that's a little much for a garage type. Unless you've got a couple OMC specific tools and some transmission experience, it's a shop job.

Thanks guys,! I kinda figured it would be a little more complicated than just slapping in some seals. I thought I would ask any way. I'll try the air pressure thing. Anyway thanks for the responses, and the welcome!😎
