I acquired a OMC 90HP v4 Flatback. the problem is that it doesn't come with a VRO pump. So I convert it to a premixed and install a fuel pump. it is working fine. However there is one hose that I don't know where to connect it. on the label it said it is a drain hose. please look at the picture, is it the fuel return hose? this engine is installed in a boston whaler rage 14 which doesn't have a return fuel connect to the tank. where should I install this hose? currently it is connected to a custom bottle I make to see if any fuel come out, but after hours of boating there is nothing coming out of this hose........

oh ok yep drain hose=hose from the air silencer (plastic air cleaner/carb cover ) just drains gas from the carbs that spills generally when you tilt the motor all the way up that hose drains back into the motor most all (evinrude /Johnson ) should be a small port it hooks onto and the other end of the hose to the air silencer (carb cover /plastic or metal )...............your fuel pump other wise has fuel come in from the tank then goes to the carbs ,and one on the back of the pump for vacuum(pulse )to make it pump fuel ,some don't have a hose on the back of the pump instead the mount flush to the block (vacuum port ) and are as well held on usually with 2 screws ......50hp mounts flush 70hp has a nipple on back for a vacum(pulse) hose .....90 115 and up I don't remember ............

it is not the hose for the air silencer as you can see on the diagram the air silencer hose is at the bottom and I already hook it up to the carb cover.

?????---------I believe the picture is for the turbo jet inboard models.----------They have a drain hose coming off the can that houses the VRO pump !!!!---------So post all the information here.-------Is your motor a turbo jet or regular outboard ?????----------These turbo jets follow different coast guard rules !

Note that " drain " is a safety feature for an inboard installation.-------Any leakage from the VRO inside the can would be safely put inside the motor.--------If you do not want to follow rules for inboard installation then perhaps you need to wear a parachute when you take the boat out !!!

Yes, it is a turbojet install as an inboard in a Boston whaler rage 14. Previous owner took the engine apart and lost the VRO pump. Since I convert it to premixed and I have no where to attach the drain hose. Can I seal it up or install a air tide bottle to accept what ever is being drain?

Just read you post again and realize something. Do you mean that the drain hose is actually for the extra fuel in the VRO to drain I into the motor? If so, since I don't use VRO. There is nothing to drain into the motor I can just seal up the hose?

You need to accept the facts.-------------The picture shows a drain hose. --This is a safety feature for inboard installations should the VRO pump ( mounted inside a metal can ) develop a leak.----------So if you now have a pump mounted somewhere without this safety concept you may need to pack a parachute !!!!!!!!!!!
