Omc breaker plate

I have 1987 omc 3.0. While adjusting new points I overtightened screw and stripped hole in breaker plate I installed a larger diameter screw that I cut to length. The larger screw is tight but I don't want it to loosen up on lake. Any ideas cannot find breaker plate to replace

There are a few options. You can us an inside star type lock washer under the screw, and/or use some Lock Tite as well. It will not work loose unless you force it loose again. JMHO!

Just drill and tap it for the next size screw.
