I just bought a can of OMC/BRP Engine Tuner to decarb my motor ('72 Johnson 65hp). I was going to buy some Seafoam but I have been trying to buy from my local OMC dealer when I can, to support his business.
My intent was to spray some into the carbs with the motor running, shut it down and then spray some directly into the spark plug holes, before letting the motor sit overnight. The next morning, I would have sprayed the rest into about a gallon of premix, so that I could run it through the engine. The last step would have been, of course, to run the motor with a regular fuel mix until all of the tuner, carbon, etc. appeared to have been run out of the motor.
As I understand some of the posts here, and info that I have received from other sources, this is pretty much the standard drill when de-carbing an outboard. I a little puzzled though, because BRP says not to mix the tuner in the premix.
Anyone with experience using this product have any advice?
