OMC Cobra 2.3 exhaust riser / manifold mod?

My OMC Cobra 2.3l is in need of a new exhaust riser. Water is leaking from the cooling passages into the exhaust. Unfortuately replacements seem to be virtually unabtainable. Does anyone know of a sucessful mod to use either a different riser or somehow bypass the cooling water from the manifold directly into the exhaust? I probably havn't got too much longer on the exhaust manifold either, which are also unabtainable. Is there a safe way of doing a dry stack conversion on these engines?

Nope,... Absolutely NOT....

Search craigslist, 'n ebay for used parts, preferably from a freshwater boat...

wow, ebay... someone is selling a used manifold for $650?
HGE6041 is new for around $750

the 914766 riser still shows as a good number in the BRP/Evinrude system, as do some other 2.3 risers:
913394 RISER Available
912476 RISER Available

weird - they're all priced out as good numbers, but they all seem to change up to the 914766

Makes me wonder what my wife's un used sewing machine is worth...
