OMC Cobra Drive

Does anybody have any idea what kind of HP the cobra leg from 89 will handle. My 351W block is cracked and I am going to build a new engine this winter. I was planning on stroking it slightly and would like to aim for 300hp. I think 300 isn't asking too from the leg but figured I would ask and see if anybody has any experience.
