Is it safe to pressure test drive from fill hold on side? All videos ive seen do it from the top hole but i can simply test from fill hole on side using the oil fill pump adapter.

yes. however make sure the drive has no oil in it. you pressure test the drive empty. and when your under pressure, you rotate shafts, shift linkages, etc.

Also i can test with drive on boat correct? Whats the best way to check linkage while under pressure?

Better to test it off the boat to see if it's leaking at the driveshaft.

If you test it off the boat and it's leaking, you will likely need to remove the drive. You have removed the drive before right?

Yes, drive been off 2 times this season. Trying to avoid for a third

I know i have a leak, i can watch gear oil accumulate on muffs from prop shaft area. Drive has been off two times this season already. Im hoping leak is from bearing carrier seals or something. Do you think i could keep drive on boat and attempt to fix leak at prop shaft area before removing drive again?

psi dropped from 5 to 4 in 2 or 3 hours. How can i find such a small leak?

You pressureize it, then you start wiggling and rotationg shafts

PSI doesn't drop while moving anything noticeable took hours to drop.
