OMC Cobra Tilt

I have a newly accuired VIP Vision with a 3.0 OMC Cobra it needs some work. Owner said tilt/trim in inoperative. Where are the tilt controls. There is a button on the end of the shifter is that it.There is also a button where the shifter pivots don't know what that is either. I see no other button that are not labeled. Thanks in advance.

The switch on the top of the control is the trim.
The button in the center of the control arm is to release the shifter for throttle only.That is for proper starting procedure.
What year is this boat?

I'm not sure it is a 1760 and the number on the hull is VNN VB553D191 where would i find the year?

My 84 Stingray has seperate tilt and trim controls I am not too farmiliar with boats, cars is where my experience is

The trim pump should be mounted on the port side next to the engine against the transom.
It should be a 2 wire system,(green and blue) The connection about 4 foot from the pump is a plastic connector. Start by finding that and cleaning the connections.
You can also jump power direct from the battery to those 2 wires and see if the pump runs.
+ to the green wire and - to the blue and it should raise the drive.
Reverse polarity and it should lower.
That will tell you if the pump is working or if you have a wiring,switch or solenoid problem.

Also there are 2 50 amp fuses inside black rubber boots just to the left side top of the engine usually near the shift cable bracket.One fuse is for the trim system.
If you have the black plastic OMC throttle control with the red trim button those are known to fail.

Yea.....long day...I had it backwards..but the test will work...
