I have an OMC Cobra outdrive and have been reading on here about problems with the gauge and trim.
I can understand not needing the gauge. My gauge doesn't work. When the IGN is off is is all the way down (the gauge), when I turn the key on the gauge goes to all the way up no matter where the out drive is.
Problem is (I think) as I have been reading isn't the trim pump supposed to stop when it gets to the top or bottom?
When I trim mine when the drive gets all the way up or all the way down the trim pump just makes a clicking sound like stripped gears or something.
I know its bad to do this but I just got the boat and was still trying to get adjusted to how long it takes to go up or down.
So my question is, is there supposed to be something that cuts the trim pump off when I get to all the way up or all the way down?
Does if have to do with the gauge? Meaning do I have to have the gauge working to get the trim interrupt to work?
If so, Where is all this stuff and how do I trouble shoot it?
Thanks
