Hi all this is my first post as I have searched this issue already and found no solid information on the job.
this is on a 1988 3.0L OMC cobra outdrive that seems to have one problem after another. Hopefully on the home stretch here.
I am am attempting to replace the Ujoint seal in the upper housing. I just removed the shaft and carrier from the upper unit. However there seems to be play in between the bearing and the seal. Is this normal? When it was bolted to the outdrive I did not notice any play. However it just doesn’t seem right now that I have it off. Also anyone know of a spanner wench that you can still buy to work on this driveline?
