Will the newer OMC controls work with older engines?<br />I have a 1989 225 HP Johnson and I found a newer control, P/N 176371. This is a control with a trim and tilt switch but doesn't have the start switch.

Assuming we're talking about a binnacle control, then yes. I take it your existing wiring harness is installed into the dash and not the control? Then no worries. You'll find that there are two holes to secure the cable end to on the lever mechanisms. You'd want the one closer to the axis.
