Hi again,

There is something that has never been explained to me. There is a small, I'll call it a rudder just above the propeller with settings from 1 - 5.
Can someone tell me what this does.

Thanks,

I think I have the same thing on my 94 Volvo SX. It's like a small fin that can swivel. If I remember right, it counteracts prop torque that skews the boat to one side.

Thats kind of what I thought it could be. Kind of a steering aligner that could be adjusted if the boat tended to pull to one side or the other.

That is your trim tab and it is there to help you equalize the steering effort you feel.If you have power steering it is ornamental. If you do'nt have p.s. and you find your steering much more difficult, say to the right , then loosen that tab and move the back of it to the right.Same thing the other way around. This looks like but is not a rudder and is only there to equalize prop torque at the helm.
