My boat has some wiring issues with a sending unit, from setting in the boat, on the left side, port of the engine, at the back, there is a sending unit with two wire slip connectors that is not hooked up. I need to know what this is, I think it may be a low oil pressure shut off for the fuel pump, or ?. I would be a lot more comfortable if I had all the oem stuff working! just put in a new engine, and as my other posts reflect, trying to get her back in shape for trouble free summer.
4.3l 1990 omc cobra.
I read somewhere as memory serves me that there is an alarm? not much good here at deciphering the wiring diagram in my aftermarket manual. will be glad when the omc manual arives next week.

Sounds like it's the oil pressure or fuel pump switch and a picture sure could help

no alarms on a 1990 OMC 4.3 and the fuel pump is mechanical - need a pic or a way better description

If it is in the vicinity of the oil filter, it probably is the oil pressure sender for the gauge at the helm. Should be one for water temperature as well. If this is a new engine, were the senders on the engine when you received it, or did you add them? As was mentioned. Pictures, pictures, pictures, and details, details, details.
