Ford put the same 2.3L in all those vehicles. While some parts such as gaskets are interchangeable, everything else is Marine specific for good reason. If you need to replace the block, up to around 1990 works as long as it has a mechanical fuel pump. Starter, Distributor, Fuel pump, and Alternator are Marine parts and should not be substituted with automotive parts. Electrical parts are shielded and the fuel pump has a nipple for a hose to the carb in case of diaphragm failure. I've found automotive starters in a couple of boats and that's pretty dangerous as well as against the USCG regs. I rebuilt an automotive 2.3 for my boat and did save a few bucks on gaskets. Fuel pump gasket, same in both applications except for three times the price when you get a "Marine" one! LOL!!
