omc gimbel bearing and bellows

87 omc cobra 4.3 205hp I just recently had the time of my life pulling stern out w/ the help of yall I finally got it It appears that the gimbal bearing was (is) stuck to drive shaft(found the noise) But I have Co. river sand in the bellows, does not appear to be any holes but I will replace. How would it get in there. Also does the gimbal have a bearing race to replace. Or do I just clean up the area and replace bearing and seal

I just did this, but needed the Clymer 1986-1993 OMC Cobra manual to do it. Many, many detailed steps to replacing stuff on this sterndrive. That manual should be available at any marine store.

have a manuel and don't beleive it has a bearing race as the housing has a hole where the grease zert hole fills the bearing. Still trying to remove gimbal bearing from drive shaft. I'll get the little m#@&!f#@%*
