I have a 1988 GM engine 5.0L / OMC Cobra. I have noticed a little bit of water dripping from around the bottom of the exhaust manifold. Not much, but enough to be worrysome, but I want to be proactive.

I guess it could be gaskets, or it could be the manifold starting to rust out. Tried tapping the manifold, but could not find anything. Don't know, but it is possible that the manifolds are the originals.

1. Any suggestions on what to do?
2. Any way to tell the age of the manifolds?
3. Are they easy to pull so I can check them?
4. If I need new ones, any idea on the cost of replacements?

Re: OMC-GM exhaust manifold

Anychance it is just a leaky petcock?

No way that I know to tell the age without documention.

There are already threads explaining how to pressure test them. Do a search on "pressure testing manifolds"

Most of the advise here is always, if any doubt, replace them.
