OMC I/O Trim Noisy

I got my boat ('86 Rinker V170) out of storage recently and noticed the power trim making more noise (than I remembered from last year anyway).
Not even sure how to check but I'm guessing that it's low on oil? I have not seen any leakage. How do I check and what type of fluid do I use?
It is a GM 3.0L with OMC outdrive--two sets of numbers on the valve cover:
Mod. No. 302AMKWB Ser. No. T0896170 and Mod. No. 983841 Ser. No. TO429612.
Any info. would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like you have a OMC Cobra Drive which I'm not familiar with but it sounds like one of those times that an engine/drive manual would be an excellent investment.
