omc identification

I've got an omc outdrive with the serial number J385575 and model number 983489. Can anybody tell from this what kinda drive it is and what year etc.?<br /><br />Thanks

I'd call a boat dealer/repair center. They will likely know.

...just looked on my cobra drive. My model number is 983841 and it is a 1986 year.
