I recently replaced the tilt shaft on my OMC 800 outdrive because the teeth on the shaft broke. Also, it looked like the heat circuit? on the tilt motor broke so the circuit isn't making contact. If i force the circuit to make contact the tilt motor works fine, but i don't want to run the boat like that for too long because if the motor overheats i don't want to start a fire on the boat.

My question is does anyone have any information on the components inside the tilt motor incase i can repair it myself, or order just the part i need. Also, what makes up the heat circuit breaker, is it just a low gauge solder? If so i can attach some solder to it so that contact is made.

What do you think? Thanks for the info.
