OMC King Cobra upper to SX lower

I have a 1992 454 king cobra (744DPEAMH) and I broke the lower gears . The marina put a different lower on it might be a cobra sx unit with large gearcase made for a small block application anyone have some input for me on If this lower will last?

Nope, no way in the world did that happen, not only wouldn't it fit, but the shifting in an SX drive is in the upper, in your drive, it has to be in the lower.

First thanks for giving me the time . When looking at the manual it shows the forward & reverse gears in the upper Volvo style my old lower was a clutch cone I am afraid they put dog clutch on it ,to the tune of $6300.00 bucks! The old unit had a long skag on it (True King Cobra) this new lower has a short pointy one like a shark

From What I have read about the big block drives the 90.5 to 93 cobras had shifting in the upper with a cone clutch like a volvo or Bravo unit.
