I have A 1988 7.5 king cobra that has a broken upper gear case housing along with the pivot mount. I would like to know if a 1990 upper will interchange with my lower and will a 5.7 pivot housing work with my upper.

No.

The 90 model is a interim (prior to the SX) cone clutch drive. Completely different drive.

the 87/88/89 King (460) Cobras are the same though.

This is a good time to swap out the whole mess.
