Howdy,

The gimbal housing assy (OMC # 985963) from the 460 King Cobra is the same as the 5.7/5.8 models The ratios are similar (1.41:1 vs 1.43:1)

Go to http://epc.brp.com (you don't have to put in an email address) to view parts breakdown

The pivot housings are the same. OMC# 985631 as is the Yoke shaft #912212

Whether a "smaller" drive will survive behind a 460 is any ones guess.

OMC made the King Cobra drive "bigger'. It holds nearly twice as much oil as the smaller drives. Everything is heavier and bigger. (for a good reason)

Personally, I wouldn't spend any money on a damaged 460 engine or King Cobra drive. Manifolds, risers, and the coupler are MUCH more expensive than for the other engines. If you have to replace any of them you can easily get more money in the thing that it's worth.

The vertical driveshaft (#35 in the parts breakdown) is the probably the weak point in the drives (not the 'same' between the big one and the little one) . A 460 might break it.

You'll only know if you try it.

Maybe some other people will jump in here with experience using the 460 and smaller drives.

Good luck,

Rick
